Testimony from jail guard halts trial

Testimony from a Travis County Jail Guard prompts the defense attorney to put a stop to proceedings at the Travis County Courthouse.

Former corrections officer Tasha Lass claims a man on trial for his life asked her to bring a gun into his jail cell so he could use it to escape.

KLBJ's Emily Trube reports:

Milton Dwayne Gobert's defense attorney Leonard Martinez says he has been given 24 hours to investigate Lass and her claims. The punishment phase of Gobert's Capital Murder trial will resume tomorrow morning at 9am.


Lass's testimony has county officials to do a full security review of the jail.
